It's curtains for you.

I am not going to lie to you all.  It has been very challenging to post lately.  I have been reading, Don't sweat the small stuff (fantastic, must read book) and completely wrapped my head around the concept that happiness cannot be found in yearning for new desires, amongs other extremely good concepts.  Perhaps for the first time in my life I feel completely satisfied and it is awesome.  I am rich beyond my wildest dreams and didn't even know it until now.  I hope this does not make you want to throw up, but if you have been following my blog, you know that I have been on a deep spiritual journey.  So the curtains is not for my little ole blog, but for showers.  I have run across the most beautiful and interesting shower curtains that I just wanted to share with you.  I don't yearn for them, I just thought they were pretty and perhaps you will too.  Enjoy, Heidi

Failure is only postponed Success.

                                                                    Unknown Origin

First off I wanted to thank all of you for the lovily comments, they really stroked my ego, you know, the one that I am trying to dissolve. (Reading The Art of Happiness and loving every bit).
As for this post, it is about something that has been pulling at my heartstrings for years now, Australia.  I would love to live there someday but for the time being I will be happy with visiting, so I have entered  a contest to win a trip for two on a wine tasting get-a-way.  It is called Taste your way around Australia.  I have played their little wine tasting game 75 times now, my goal is 200. (each time you play it is another chance to win)  My chances to win are high, but since I never win anything, I don't feel overly confident.  I have become an Australian wine expert through this little challenge.
My persistance will pay off one day and one day I will be in Oz.  Enjoy, Heidi

A Charmed Life & A New Book

Australian born Author and fellow blogger Vicki Archer seems to live a charmed life in the South of France, the place she has found and now calls home. Like many, I adored her first book "My French Life" and her new book "French Essence", continues to drag me into her dreamy world. The photography by Carla Coulson is divine and Vicki's styling is second-to-none. I have posted my absolute favourite page in her new book above. I decided on this one page as I don't want to spoil it for you. This book is definitely one to add to the Christmas wish list! Congratulations Vicki on another huge success!!

Nb. French Essence is available now in Australia & New Zealand and will be sold on Amazon later this year.

Easy Elegance

I just purchased a copy of Atlanta Bartlett's book, Easy Elegance. It is full of ideas on mixing the old with the new and celebrates something I am passionate about - individuality!! The top image I have posted is my favourite picture in the book. I love the layering of flowers on flowers...so beautiful!

Stumbling Across Kim Parker

On Saturday night after dinner at our local Thai restaurant, Harry and I walked into Riverbend Bookshop on the way back to the car.

Whilst Harry headed for his section I plonked myself in front of my favourite section. I was scouring through the interiors books when I stumbled across a book by US artist Kim Parker.

I actually ended up purchasing a different book. However, it didn't stop me googling Kim Parker when we got home.

I must be a little behind the times as I didn't realize she was the artist behind one of my favourite rugs at The Rug Company!

She has also created some beautiful floral embroidered cushions which I think would be a beautiful addition to any cushion collection.

I think I might head back to Riverbend Books to pick myself up a copy of her book this week to flick through over Easter.
