Here's some new stuff we did the last couple of days. I have wanted to get this shape (The wide mouth, low sided, soft curved edges in the light blue - the middle-sized bowl) and finally figured out how to do it. The chartreuse set is a little more green in person, than the photos turned out. The photos make it look a little more yellow than I think it actually is. The blue set in particular is kind've opposite of what U2 said in their song. They said that..."I still haven't found what I'm looking for..." In this set "I found what I am looking for." At least in being able to make that particular shape. Cool-O!
Bella Forte Glass will be the featured artists at the Dean-Lively Gallery on Thursday, December 4th, 2008! This is going to be during the "Dicken's Weekend" in Edmond. From what I understand, shop owners and others will be in period costumes (stuff they wore back when Charles Dickens wrote "The Christmas Carol") The Mayor of Edmond, Daniel P. O'Neil comes down and lights the Christmas Tree at the Mayor's Tree Lighting at 6:00 pm on Thursday night December 4th. They have really revitalized that little downtown area and it looks really cool with neat street lights and bronze statues, and brick walkways, and trees and all sorts of neat stuff. They are going to be having Penn Square Christmas Carolers, Santa walking around, carriage rides, street corner food vendors, the governor is gonna fly over in a helicopter and throw millions of hundred dollar bills down...... (I think I just got carried away, scratch the governor and the hundred dollar bill part) Anyway, Micah and I are going to be the featured artists and Elaine Dean will be showcasing alot of our work. We plan on having a beautiful red Chandelier made and hanging.(No promises, but we are working hard to make it happen.) Dean-Lively Gallery (Elaine and Greg Dean) has purchased and just recently moved next door to where they were for years. "They" (I think that means primarily Scott Butler) has really done a great job on all the construction and finishing touches. I think Scott could do Ty Pennington's job and make it look easy! A really talented guy! I'll mention this again and possibly again and again later on! We are looking forward to it.
Here are the first blown glass Christmas ornaments I have ever blown. The clear one is the first one I ever blew. Followed by the blue then the Gold Ruby one, and then the other Gold Ruby one. They are a little thick, but I didn't want them to break easily. I will say that listening to Manheim Steamroller is the ONLY way to go while blowing Christmas ornaments! Seriously!
Welcome to my unique home. This is the kitchen sink area that is not even in the kitchen but it is around the corner from it. I have an abundance of mirrors in my home since I do not have many windows. The floors we sanded and painted and then I sanded them again to give a distressed look. Now even if they are a little dirty they just look distressed.

I have a thing for clocks, silver, black, trophies, flowers, bugs, tortoiseshell and German stuff, (since I am a German Girl). These flowers are made of pieces of rolled up wax paper.

This German badge has 2 sides. This is the side worn at funerals, the other side is yellow and red. I don't know what organization it is from but it does say Berlin, Texas and that is just up the road from Burton. I love the bullion and the bee skip on it. Enjoy, Heidi
Matthew Mead is another one of those amazingly creative people out there and pretty much everything he does is brilliant. He has done work for several companies and publications, Country Living is where I first saw him. These 2 images below are some of my favorites because I love to arrange little vignettes inside domes. It has become sort of a hobby for my friend Carolyn and I to gather the things we love and cherish and display them inside a dome. The last picture inspired me to arrange my own dishes inside my cabinets in this organized chaos look, but my friend Janet said to me," oh yeah, you will pull out one dish and then you will have an avalanche." Lately, I am finding images that I am totally crazy about and they all belong to a fabulous designer named Windsor Smith. This woman is so lovely, not only is she a brilliant designer and have her own line of furniture and home decor but she is a Mother of 2 boys. Her style is timeless and traditional but with a bit of exotic traveler throw in the mix and punches of beautiful color. He is 30 years old and is the Martha Stewart Living's Senior Style Editor. I love everything he does. I know this is weird and conceited but he reminds me so much of myself it's scary. Eddie, I love everything you do. I just discovered you and I do believe that you share some sort of creative genetics that my 2 best friends and I have. We were all pretty poor at one point of our lives but it seemed to make us even more creative. Black, white, cream, tan, grey, silver and crystal, I like to call it "Monocromagic"!
