A Bit of Holiday Decorating Inspiration

I'm going to be out of town for several days and won't be able to blog, so I thought I'd leave you with a little Holiday inspiration in my absense. I'll be back with you on the 9th.
*For those of you waiting on a shipment from me, they will be shipped on the 9th when I return. This includes etsy purchases and the giveaway winners.* (unless I can talk hubs through it while I'm gone.)

The first few pictures are from etsy. I didn't save all of the sellers' names, sorry.

How easy would this be to make? You could even jazz up an existing pillow.

This one is etsy seller countrychic. You should look at her darling stockings!

This is from seller southhouseboutique. She has many incredible things. Very affordable.

This would look great in so many places in a home, although I would use more colorful ribbons.

This is from a Pottery Barn window display last year.

This is to die for!! I lifted this from the HGTV website.

Flickr, jodyrow. Love these. It's just foam balls with fabrics tucked into scored crevaces.

I think this came from Country Living.

romantichome.blogspot.com. How fabulous is this?!! You have to go see her holiday decorating.

Country Living, I think.

And last, because I have to go pack!

Please cross your fingers for me and send out a "good luck" tomorrow. I'm flying out to look at a house..................that I really want..................but I'm not the only one in the running. It just came up yesterday, and I get to see it tomorrow night, and the realtor is holding off making a decision until I get there. Cross those fingers hard!!!! If we get it, it means we can move back south finally!

Happy Decorating!

Time flies when your on the run.

After having a child & opening a business time has changed in a BIG way for me. Every week feels like one full day, every month feels like a whole week, so after 12 weeks it's been a whole year. I make notes for each holiday to help, because I need it. Notes from last year tell me that if I don't get my Christmas decorations up during Thanksgiving weekend, they will never get up. I have half of them up and it is looking like my store will be decorated that way, half right down the middle. When I don't blog for a few days it is because I am busier that one legged gal in a butt kicking contest. That is a good thing because it means $. I have decided to no longer do weddings because the stress is just not worth it. I can pay my bills with my other orders and remember, I married the Mortician. I wanted you all to know that you all help me to re-charge my batteries. I sit down to blog and yearn to be inspired & I am never disappointed. I have found the most wonderful people through blogging from all over the would.
Thank you for being apart of my life. Heidi

I am sorry I don't have the origin of this image.
Look closely my fellow Aussies, the greenery is seeded eucalyptus.

It looks like Christmas tree skirts are out and garden urns are in.

Come and See What I've Been Making!

EDITED TO ADD: I have gotten over 10 etsy conversations asking me the same question, so I wanted to clarify here. The spool ornaments are NOT $20 each, they are $20 for the set of 3. Sorry for the confusion.

Also, I've gotten several emails asking me if I was selling the work aprons in the Etsy shop. Technically the answer is no. I will be putting those in my actual online shop. HOWEVER, I have 24 of them left before I get a new order from the factory, so I'm going to offer them for sale in the Etsy shop until they are gone. Currently I only have one fabric combination completed.

Here are the specifics. When you go to the Etsy shop, you'll see a "Reserved for Bloggers" listing. That would be the one you would purchase. I put multiple quantities in so that it would stay up.

The apron is $55 regular, but I am offering it to you for $48, and I have the shiping set at FREE.
You can buy it here.

Here is the apron:

Here are the features:
There is a snap-on/removable washable cloth.
The center is scooped at the bottom so that the apron does not shift while you work, sit, or climb.
The waistband is adjustable and snaps together for better stability.
There are 4 pockets, 2 large, 2 small.
There is a scissor loop, 3 loops on the opposite side to hold smaller things. (I use mine for tweezers and chalk markers.)
There is a double loop at the bottom to hold a small hammer and a tape measure.
*The picture shows an external loop on the side where the cloth is. I've removed that because the focus testers said it interferes with the scissors.
The pockets and the apron base are all lined for stability.
The waistband is slightly scooped at the top so that it fits a woman's hips better.

These are so comfortable that, even with the pockets filled, you forget you're wearing them.
I hope you'll pick one up for yourself!!

So lately I've been in a very creative mood.............I'm sure it has nothing to do with the exhiliration I'm experiencing since becoming a STAW (stay at home worker)! I've become reacquainted with my workroom where all my little goodies were just laying in wait for my return. I've been beefing up the Etsy shop since I still can't seem to get my store open, and wanted to share all the treats I've been stocking it up with.

I got in a tray making mood for a few days, and still have 8 more one the table waiting to be finished.. Induldge me for a few minutes while I put on a MakeMineBeautiful trunk show for your viewing pleasure (I hope!).

*Everything is for sale in my Etsy shop, so if you see something you just have to have, go to the right sidebar and click on "practicalfunthings.etsy.com. Anything in the shop would also make a great gift for the holidays.
**I'm offering FREE shipping to any of you who purchases from my store. Go thru the checkout process, and when it asks you to enter instructions for the seller, put "BLOG", and then I'll know to refund your shiping charges.

Here goes: (Since these are self-explanatory, I'm just going to show you the pictures.)
You can go to my esty shop to see more detail pictures.

There you have it. I hope you enjoyed it. This is how I plan on making my living for a while, so please spread the word if you know someone who would enjoy the types of things I have in my shop.:) I don't want to have to hear any "I told you so" on the homefront cuz I really don't like crow..........not even smothered in butter.............
