Take Me Away

If I could click my fingers and be anywhere right now, I think I'd like to be here at Hotel Augustus in Forte dei Marmi, Italy. I found these fabulous photos on the ever-stylish satorialist blog.

Weekend Tidbits

My weekend has been filled with happiness. Spending time at home with my family is my favourite thing in the world. Yesterday I played with fabrics and tied them onto chairs with bows.

Last night we had some friends over for dinner. It was cold so we lit the fire. I arranged fresh Lillies and leaves from our garden on our coffee table and I lit lots of candles. Candles and flowers make me so happy.

Not only did I arrange flowers from our garden in our house, I cooked roast chicken and used fresh rosemary and tomatoes from our garden. I bundled up a little parcel of rosemary and tomatoes for my friends to take home with them. They absolutely loved it.

This morning I have been sitting in our lounge room with the paper and my bubba listening to my music. The boys are about to have a swim as it's so gorgeous and sunny...still too cold for me though.

Can you believe I just spotted this gladioli flower which has popped up smack bang in the middle of our baron block. We obviously have very fertile soil here.

I collected more November Lillies from my friend Phoebe Stephens yesterday. I am obsessed with them at the moment.

Spring really is starting to shine through today. The blue skies are stunning as is my Jacaranda tree which is just starting to flower...

I'm off to enjoy the rest of this glorious sunny Spring day.

Here's two

Last night we had a wonderful group come out to the studio for a demo. We made a Redento Raffinato while they watched. It turned out Super Good! After cold working it was 23"1/4" tall. That seems so small now. It used to be really big.

The Murinni Raffinato was blown about 2 months ago and I finally got a picture of it tonight. It stands slightly over 30" tall. The dark colored circles are a beautiful transparent purple with green cane, green color, and white cane surrounding it. I wasn't able to get it lighted properly, but I guess it will have to do.

Here are a few things I've been obsessing over lately and yes they are all very random except for one weird thing...there is a hint of yellow in every single picture!!

I gotta go now, they're waiting for me.

She kept saying,"I gotta go now, they're waiting for me, I'm gonna be late".  The granddaughter asked,"Nanny, where are you going?"  The grandmother replied again,"I gotta go now"
and she closed her eyes and passed away.

This happened earlier this week in a hospital not too far away.  The 86 year old grandmother had  fallen and sustained a serious spinal injury.  She had been in the hospital for 2 weeks.  I had the privilege of doing the flowers for her funeral.  She was a well loved woman.  What an awesome story about the crossing over process.  She had told another granddaughter that she would see her later and that is so true.
It is not good bye but, see ya later.  I wish you all a fabulous weekend.  Love, Heidi

Happy Wet & Windy Weekend

Can you believe the weather we are experiencing here in Brisbane? Spring just hasn't had a chance to shine through at all. I'm preparing myself for another wet and windy weekend at home. Maybe I'll venture out to get some flowers in the morning but I think that's about as far as I want to go this weekend. After a crazy and pretty stressful week getting all of our pre-Christmas orders in place and secured with our suppliers and manufacturers, I'm looking forward to just pottering.

This afternoon I spotted this gorgeous old Kate Spade ad in my files which I thought would be perfect to post today {with this weather}. Oh and talking of Kate Spade, I loved seeing the images Katie Armour posted this week of the Kate Spade pop-up store opening in London soon. They really know how to do it those people at Kate Spade. Very groovy!

The Power of Pink.

This one is for the Power behind this color that can be so bold and striking and also so soft and delicate.  This one is for the warriors, survivors, friends and families whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
October is breast cancer awareness month.
It is no longer a death sentence, get yourself checked.  Love, Heidi
